Mick Lorusso and Alissa Polan invented the Do-It-Yourself Eco-Fashion Network, a satirical television shopping network that acts as a launch pad for the Heel Hoe and Seed Sow, products that can be used for reintroducing native plants into the parks of San Francisco. The project is a playful inquiry into the realms of urban hipness, do-it-yourself culture, stereotyped gender roles, and eco-consciousness. In our guerilla-style action, which took place in the Panhandle of Golden Gate Park, we suggest a way of remapping a public site by reintroducing the ecosystems indigenous to the city.
